Ok I'm out in the Caribbean on a cruise and I've somehow or other been given the green light from the wife to bring a travel rod with me. We've done a few stops but today at Grenada was my first chance to wet a line.
Had a good session with about 15 fish caught but only 3 species. Blue spotty chap up above and the next two .
Well not much of a fishing adventure eh? I did give it another bash in Antigua but the water around the port was really cloudy and to be honest smelt like a sewer which after walking around the town for a bit I believe it is.
Got back to a much cooler and greyer old Blighty this morning so it looks like being canal and river fishing once again! :(
I'm a Caribbean boy here. The two smaller fish are in the grouper class and they are delicious. They don't get very big and they live in rocky areas. You have to be swift when hooking them else they dash back into the rocks in a flash.
The other wierd looking fish, we call them Lizard Fish. They're extremely aggressive. They will attack any lure you throw, i've caught them on spoons and big xrap rapalas. Their meat is tough, so locals may throw away the head and fry the body. Most persons release them back.
