Stipers in MEAD are still boiling...

booyah says:
The summer months are coming to a close shortly, but the stripers are still feeding on shad at the surface probably till the end of September then they will go deep for the winter after having gorged on shad and have gotten their fat reserves for the winter. I have a taste for smoked striper snacks and the ones I have just posted in the photo section are perfect for it. Saying a big howdy to "Its a boat" and my other great buddy "Mark T"  Y'all take care now!!!

Hey booyah,

About time you gave up that warm weather and sent it south...It's been cold down here !! Did you send it with a tracking number? I will let you know when it arrives.

Bloody wet too...Did you see on the news, it rained on the rock...Ayers Rock that is...It hasn't rained there in about 2 billion years hehe. Probably catch some fish there now :)

So much rain, I have been flooded in a few times. 60mm (about 1 1/2 inches) 2 days ago. Tomorrow they say a big downpour...guess I will be flooded in again !!

I guess by now you would have a good supply of booties and mittens for the winter ?? :):)....how is the knitting club going by the way ? :)

Good to hear from you mate....I am off over to the photo section now to check out what you are boasting about...

Well The knitting club decided to make you a set of booties and a beanie hat so you could stay warm......they asked me what size hat you wear and I told them extra small cuz you are a pin head.
I got you an inner tube for a truck tire in case it floods from rain again but when I went to mail it to you they said "No need he has a bunch of blow up dolls" that will save him from drowning when there is too much rain. Rest assured my freind......the heat will be there to complain about very soon. In the mean time..........you should deflate all those blow up toys!!!     Till next time mate!
Yeah, I got that beanie. But I thought it was for someone else cos it was 2 sizes to big :)

First day of spring and the heat complainers are already out...I am making my complaint list now so I can get in early...

Oh yeah, looking forward to summer...can't wait...:) 😊
Actually...I just realised...60mm is more like 2 1/2 inches...no wonder the back yard is flooded !!
I posted a pic of the smoked stripers I made and I made them with a smoke hollow pro smoker....its a sidebox type wood smoker. About 1 hour at 190 - 225 deg.....with hickory wood.the pic is in regular photo section.....this reply was originally in fishing report topic......in reply to dazzling 79
Looks and sounds nice !

I only have one of those simple box type smokers with the metho burner. Works OK but you really have to watch it or it burns.

Have you ever used one of those pipe type smokers? I have never even seen one except on TV. They look a bit like a small air brush type sprayer. But where the paint would go in the air brush, is where the wood dust goes. I don't even know exactly how they work or how the heat is applied to get the smoke.

I have looked on ebay with no luck. Even Google has not been of any help...and Google knows everything !!

I wouldn't mind learning more about them. I think one would be ideal for me in the caravan.
