Big Snapper

pkay says:
This afternoon I was walking out to a 'dangerous' rock ledge with a big swell running, timing it for the afternoon minor. I was going to target kingfish with a surface popper. On the way I met a fisher walking back along the beach and he had a big (7kg) snapper...and he said that was a small one! Totally deflated (I was targeting the wrong species)I kept going. Arrived at rock ledge and realised I had forgotten spiked rock boots. Like trying to fish on ice and then first cast with new and expensive popper I forgot to open the bale. Snap! Goodbye lure. I hate that.
So, with tail between legs I went home with nothing.
Always tomorrow!

haha mate - funny story. Especially the "small" 7kg snapper.
This would have probably been an epic fishing day :-)

Sometimes you get those days were everything just goes wrong.

It happens to me every now and then when out kayak fishing.

My lines tangles, I loose all of my lures at once, forget my scissors, knife, hooks or landing net ( the last one especially when I catch a big one 😉 )

The other day everything was perfect, until after driving 80km to a great fishing spot, when I realized that I forgot to bring my paddle 😉
