Surfcasting Mercury Bay ,Coromandel, New Zealand

It's the start of Winter here, yet the fishing from the rocks or the beach has been producing some top results for me. Mainly large Kahawai (a great fighting fish and good eating too)but the Snapper are returning from the deep ,as I have landed quite a few with the largest being a 10lb beauty. So keep an eye on the tides, the birds and the moon for there are some lovely feeds waiting to be caught and appreciated. Screaming reels to you all, From The Captain

Hiya Cap'n

Fishing along the Auckland estuaries has been pretty pretty slow...
Could it be because of the freaking cold? Any tips for baits to use during the cold winter months??

Cheers
