Just joined from Australia, any luck with this sites info?

Fishing in Melbourne, Aus at the moment.

Just signed up to this website, just wondering if many people are having much luck using these fishing times to much effect?

Im just curious, as it recommended the day for being poor, and coincidentally I didnt catch a fish all day, which is rare for the area I usually fish in.

Thanks.

I'm new here too, but have been surf fishing northern nsw for the last few months and looking back, the days we did well coincide with the predictions. Yesterday was described as being a poor day and it was, three undesized rascals after four hours.
Hi John,

Welcome to the site.

I am glad you find the info useful. I have been using it for years and it works every time for me.
Hi Dec0004,

Welcome to Fishingreminder.

I have been a member here for about 5 years. I use the info every day. Even now that I am way out west of Wagga for the next year or so, it is still useful and helpful.

This site has been going for about 7 years. The last time Mark had stats publicly published, the site had 70,000 members. The last known page views per day (that I know of) was more than 5000. That is thousands of people coming to the site for info every day! The mobile Apps have been downloaded and installed on smart phones and tablets more than 100,000 times and might be as many as 500,000 times (half a million !!).

In the 5 years that I have been here I have read every single post made to the Forum...Every single one...Yes, I know, I need to get out more 😊 In all that time, with thousands of people, I have never seen anyone put forward any legitimate reason why the info does not work.

That is no good...fishing all day and not catching even one fish. But then again, the Fishingreminder rating for your area for the day was 'poor'. Coincidence ?? Maybe...maybe not ! 😊
Hi and welcome to the site everybody,

Hope the infos will be useful.

Many people swear by fishing times and people have been using sun, moon, tides and weather since ancient times to determine the bite times and best days to go fishing.
As itsaboat said, we have many members who use the predicted bite times with great success.

Fishing during the most productive days and times can be a great time saver.

Just remember - fishing times and ratings alone wont guarantee your catches.
It's also just as important to know the behaviour of the species you're targeting and to actually find or attract the fish in the first place. If there is no fish around then even the best times won't help much.

cheers and happy fishing!

Yes , Since I started relying on this site I have caught more fish than going at it alone!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nah...fishing's been crap...The predictor doesn't help at all.:DImageImage
Maybe you should try using a more suitable bait...The fishing times are just a guide, you still need to apply your skills...

If it were me, I would be baiting that poddy mullet just in front of the dorsal fin so it can still swim...Not like you have done through the mouth....How do you expect to catch anything when your poddy can't swim ???

Not to mention the fact that you are clearly using the wrong type of beach....and them shorts....MAN, them shorts !!!

Look at that reel...No one could expect the fishing times to work when using a reel like that...what is your problem? Can't spell OURVEE ?

haha...luv it...:) :)

Jokes aside, that is not a bad size poddy mullet....What size loaf of bread did you use to get that ?? :)

LOL - good one

pretty awesome bait fish you got there ruste13  😊 😉
Hahah!

Love chasing silver.
looking forward to catching some fish with my 9 year old son on Saturday in Mobile Bay.
if your lucky you will not get out fished like me by my daughter
Its was supposed to be a poor day but went for fish anway a lennox head, away from Imagerecent flood water. Got into a school of dart before we got a feed of whiting and bream. Plenty of pipis which worked best but peeled prawn also effective. I still have trouble with peeling prawns for bait, if my kids couldn't peel prawns themselves they went hungry.
Child abuse !!...Starving your kids...I suppose you could feed them mud crabs and lobster, you just need a hammer to peel them...you can drive a hammer, can't you ?? 😊 :)

That is not a bad catch, nice size whiting.

I copped just the edge of that stormy weather. But I am about 500km inland. Just some minor local flooding. Nothing to worry about, water came up over the bridge but it is a low bridge to start with. Murrumbidgee is looking very muddy and fast flowing. Not sure about the Murray, it looked OK a week before the storm.

Yes!!!!!!!!!!! This is an amazing website, you still have to know how to set the hook. I have had caught for fish consistently than with out. I recommend it to everyone I know.
