Hi RonB

Welcome to Fishingreminder.

Tides are different to our 24 hour clocks. Which is why the time of tides changes by about 1 hour at each change. Then there is a lapse before the tide changes and starts to go the other way.

The 1-5 represents the hours of the tide moving. Then the slight pause and it starts moving the other way, so we start counting the hours again. On our clock we count down the hours. So it goes  5 4 3 2 1 low tide...then a pause and the tide starts coming in 5 hours 4 hours 3 hours 2 hours 1 hour to go and it's high tide.

Does that make sense? I hope I have explained it correctly...But someone will correct me if I have not 😊
