Some good news...But some bad also.

The Murray Cod is recommended to be removed from the threatened list.

Where I live is right in the middle of two very large Cod breading "farms". One about 50km to the west in Narrandera the other about 55km to the east in Wagga Wagga.

I talk to a lot of people out fishing. I have never come across anyone doing the wrong thing. Most people are strictly catch and release. Those that do take home a feed are equally strict about size and bag limits.

One thing I have been saying for years. Maybe decades...The trout (rainbow and brown) is an introduced species and should be treated as such. There should not be any regulations or protection for trout. But we have size and bag limits and even open and closed seasons.

This is the first time I have seen someone state the obvious...Trout are causing problems !!
