I actually lived there many years ago.

Really nice town. Second industry is fishing. Of course it's all big boat fishing like trawlers. But excellent land based for us ammeters. Not far from Tabourie which I have talked about before. Spent many years live bait ballooning off Tabourie Island.

The mission is a meet-n-greet for house sitting. There is someone looking for a regular sort term sitter for sits up to a week. But mostly just a few days. So I am going down to introduce the dogs etc.

The Shoalhaven Council would have to be the worst in Australia !! They don't allow free camping anywhere. Since I haven't been there in 20 years, I need some "local knowledge" of camping spots where the rangers turn a blind eye :)

Do they have something like a motor home association in AU?

Here in NZ if you join, you get access to a huge range of park over properties, which is really handy in places where you can't camp for free.

Not that I know of...I have Wikicamps (been using that for a few years) which is really good. But they have nothing listed because "officially" there is no free camping.

I will probably just have to book on to a caravan park for this meet-n-greet trip. But if I can find a free camp in the area it would be better.
