Using chicken as bait, at the beach

Hi,

Has anyone used chicken as bait, at any beach in NSW Australia. If you have, did it work?

I only used to catch paddle crabs. Chicken legs worked great for that. But haven't been used for catching fish.
I guess chicken skin or the fatty parts will work. I heard people are using bacon as bait
Chicken is great bait.

Most tackle shops will have packs of frozen chicken gut.

Good for all the standard beach fish in NSW. Bream, flathead, snapper etc.
Would the chicken gut appear like beach worms to the fish I wonder?
Yes it will.

There is usually 2 or 3 pieces in a pack. Sometimes just 1 long one. You just cut off the length you want.

There are plenty of things that can eat your bait and not get hooked. Sand crabs would be my first guess.
So I went out to Narrabeen North yesterday, on king's birthday, and took with me both baits, pilchards and marinated chicken breast strips. Normally in the river, the chicken breast strips work like magic for breams, but at the surf I wasn't sure if the wave would quickly wash off all the flavour and the chicken quickly become bland.

I caught an Australian salmon with the pilchard. Caught nothing with the chicken, although the chicken was bitten off I have no idea what tiny fish bit them off without getting hooked.
I have used chicken before it works but one day a officer said chicken is illegal
Bro that’s my go to bait . Especially the Kahawai or you guys call salmon They very like the breast
