FISHING REEL

Hingol says:
Hello, my grandson brought me a Penn Fathom 15xnld2 from the U. S A as a present. Can this reel be used for trolling? If anyone who has used this reel may please give her/his opinion and views. Its a lever drag. Thanks

Don't own this but saw it on one of the online webstore I buy stuff from. This from the description that came up.>>>

No matter which coast you fish off, Penn Fathom Lever-Drag 2-Speed Reels from TackleDirect will provide the versatility to tackle a variety of saltwater species anywhere in the world. This reel is great for bottom-fishing for cod and seabass in the Atlantic or trolling for tuna, yellowtail and dorado in the Pacific. Use it for jigging up stripers, blues and weakfish in the Northeast or for live-baiting redfish, red snapper and redfish in the Gulf.

The Penn Fathom 2-speed lets you downshift to slowly crank in the big ones. Use the higher speed for adding action to your lure or bait or for quickly bringing in your other lines when a crazy combative fish fight is on.

Featuring a full-metal body and side plates and a forged, machined aluminum spool, this workhorse is lightweight but strong, powerful and smooth. Choose from a variety of models to suit the type of fishing you do.
Absolutely...

Being size 15, you wont have a big line capacity. But there is no reason you can't troll with it.

Probably best to use mono. But if you use finger guards you could use braid.
