Less Than 48 Hours !!

Less than 48 hours to go and COD SEASON OPENS !!

I am not getting my hopes up...Last year we got hit with fires and heat waves followed by lockdowns and face masks and other stupid things getting in the way of life :)

I saw a kid a few weeks ago on that facebook thing selling bardie grubs. So there is some optimism out there. $3 each he asking. That is not bad. At $3 each I would not bother getting my own. At $3 each I think that is good wholesome pocket-money for the young boy willing to go into the bush to get the grubs.

As I say, no hopes...we wait and see. We are under a heat wave right now. We should not have to many fires cos there is nothing left to burn!! I want to try a white soft plastic that sort of looks like a bardie grub. Plan is to put the plastic under a float and let it drift with the river flow. The idea is that it should look like a dead bardie going with the flow...If the cod see it the same way then all is good.

Bit concerned about the brown snakes thou. We had some warm days a month or 2 ago. The snakes started coming out. Then we got hit with some late frosts. This will make the snakes aggressive in their hunting and mating. Snakes love water!!

Right after the Black Friday stuff finished :P
Oh, yes...Well let's hope no one went crazy buying up cod lures and white soft plastics...and anti snake bite boots...and fly swats...and fire hoses...and mosquito repellent...and 150+ sunscreen...and cork hats...:)

Speaking of fires. Would you believe I just went outside and I smell smoke. I had a look just a couple of grass fires. Both about 50km away. One at Urana apparently is out of control. Nothing to worry about at this stage. But this heat wave and winds would not be helping!!!

I just noticed 1200 posts !! So this one is 1201 --- a fish odeessea....:)

I am thinking of maybe trying the old "people travel" tactic. That is people think they have to travel to catch fish. So I am thinking of trying right in Wagga Wagga. There are also a lot of easy access river spots in Albury - Wodonga. I am thinking with the lockdown restrictions being lifted people will be keen to "get away" leaving some prime fishing waters all to me !!
