Make your own premium bait during lockdown - howto make salted mussels

Hi guys,

hope everyone is holding up okay during the covid19 lockdowns.
Many countries have banned fishing during the lockdown and it's really hard not to go fishing if you're a fishing addict.

A while ago I posted an article on how to make salted mussels for bait.
This is a prime bait and it works really good on a lot of bottom dwelling fish species.

Now during the lockdown is a great opportunity to prepare some of these salted mussels for when we can finally go fishing again. Check out my latest video on how to make it.

Great to get free bait from nature! Fishing is a good hobby for many people but could be cheaper!
I sometimes spend more money to buy bait than the value of fish I catch(if I could catch one^.*)
One more project for the lockdown period! So ready to go fishing soon!
Great video, thanks:)

I do remember your previous post about it...I seem to remember I did one on salted prawn heads too.

I like the idea of using old ice cream containers. If you put some small blocks or even some sticks or anything really in the bottom container then the mussels wont be sitting in the juice.
good to know the freezing trick i cooked mine last time to get them out. i find mussel shells at the main salmon steelhead fishing spots from other fishermen. TY and tight lines
