Good, Poor, etc ?

New here. Just needed to know, In Fishing Times - What all dictates it is going to be a Poor, Good etc Day ?  And is that really true?  I see some times for days of "poor" and can't think a fish is not going eat for that long.

Hey buddy,

welcome to fishingreminder.

The day rating is just an indication of what the fishing might be like on each given day according to the Solunar theory.

A poor day doesn't mean that fish don't eat at all or that you won't catch a fish.
It just means that fishing is more likely to be slow going, fish might be more lethargic and don't chase any lure or bait you present to them.

So finding the fish, bait presentation and matching the right bait and bait size are all more important on poor days.
On excellent days this might become a little less important because fish are more actively looking for food and strike at more opportunities.

The day rating is a general rule of thumb. It's great for  quickly choosing a good day to go fishing, especially if you don't have the time to fish everyday.
But you also need to look at the weather patterns. If you have great weather with a rising barometer on a poor day, fishing could be better than on a excellent day with horrible weather and low barometer readings.

If you got great weather and an excellent day - bang on  - drop everything and go fishing :-)

Just remember there aren't many fish in a bathtub, as itsaboat likes to point out ;-)
So you still gotta find the fish - even on an excellent day.
