Bass Fishing in Ponds

Rawhide says:
Well folks, so far this year I have caught 146 bass in 4 ponds I fish in Central Ohio. I started fishing in January, when we had 70* weather. The baits I use are the Bagley Small Fry Wake Bream Crank bait. A Green Pumpkin  Black Flake with Yellow tail.  or
red and green flake or green and purple flake. Third best bait is top water bait. All have been catch and released to be caught another day. 146 Bass in 127 days is the best I have ever done.

I have 2 river lakes I like to fish in May, but all the rain has pushed a lot of mud down stream. It might take 2 weeks to clear up. I also fish four other lakes by boat.  So , if I can't fish by boat, I fish my ponds with 2 friends.  I have a young man in his 20's ,that helps me fish by boat. I'm almost 70, so it harder to do everything any more. Fishing is my hobby since, I was 5 years old. If I had kept a running total of fish ,I wonder how many that would be all these years.

That sounds pretty good...146 bass in 127 days :)

I also started fishing at age 5. Mum had taken me for a walk and I found some line with a hook on it. I was just dangling it in the water. Then a man came over and told me I needed to put bait on the hook. He put some bread or dough on the hook for me and a few minutes later I caught my first fish. On the way home we past a shop with a cork hand line in the window...which Mum bought for me.

Now, 48 years later, I have enough fishing gear to open a tackle shop...maybe 2 :)

I don't have enough fingers and toes to count how many fish I have caught over the years.
