Hi Kanyima,
I take it that you are in the lower parts of Africa. This is not a 'CARP', this is actually a mud-fish, as we call them in South Africa. There are a lot of ways to grantee your catch but one of the most popular ways is by using dough which you mix with the water that you are catching in. I always used borehole water which worked for me better. You need to use small hooks(size between 8 and 14). the dough can be sweetened with sugar or just plain dough. Some times you can use red cake coloring to give it some color. Make sure you use small amounts of dough on the hook, this works better. I used a syringe to put my bait like a worm on the hook not touching the bait at all, but this takes some practice.
