😠why or why??
As a passionate carp angler in South Africa I know that we are blessed with some true wild and exciting carp waters. I continiously long to fish these waters to find its undiscovered treasures. These waters though are far outside the cities where I unfortunately dwell. Nothing beats a trip for a few days exploring these wild waters. BUT - most of us can only do a few trips like that per year and find ourselves longing to have a quickie ( day trip) closer to home. This takes us to our nearest dam only to find that there are STILL anglers that prefer to keep and eat their DAM fish!:??!? Louds of fish are taken never to reach a size we all dream to catch!!! For crying out loud!!! How does one stop this selfishness? And no, I am not talking about people who really needs the food! No its fattened pigs that arrive in their 4x4, take out their expensive rods and reels and chucks a month's wages worth of feed and bait into the water with the dream ( like everybody else) to catch the BIG one or to better their own PB. They put a holding net in the water to keep their catches alive only to take it out at the end and throw the holding net on the back of their 4x4 with all the fish - that will then die - very ironic!!!! Their catch is then taken home to make fish cakes or curry fish. Why?? Do you really need the food?? Cant you afford commercialised fish at your local supermarket thats less money than the bait you just used??? Do you really prefer carp?? You selfish bastards rely on anglers like me to release fish so that it can grow into the BiG ONE you hope to catch but you dont return the favour to me or the next generation???? To have curry carp or carp fish cakes??? If only you took 3 of 10 you caught I would not be writing this!! Its time that the new generation of anglers ( those that wants to preserve the fish to grow into the size fish everyone dream about) put their foot down to ensure sustainable fish reserves for ourselves and the next generation!!! PLEASE promote catch and release of non commercialised inland waters where ever and when ever possible!!!
