The reason it's bittersweet is that while fishing is pretty well done for me for the year, goose season, followed by deer season (guns) is right around the corner (bow season is already open, but I don't bow hunt).
Hunting of one sort or another will carry me through January, then, weather permitting, ice fishing may be a possibility, while also tying up some new bucktail jigs for next season. Ice fishing is tough close to home. We get plenty cold enough, but get so much snow that the ice is unreliable underneath it.
Hope to have some fishing reports come spring time!
