Brown Trout Fishing State College

csh5121 says:
Hey guys. I have recently been fishing around the state college, Pa area and have been trying to catch mostly brown trout. I have had some luck catching other fish but not what I am looking to catch. I have been using wax worms and fat head minnows but haven't had any luck. Any suggestions on bait, places to fish (near me), and techniques I should use?

Thanks,

Chris

Usually, one of the best places to start when looking for information for a specific location (other than word of mouth or hoping that someone from the area is on a forum) is to check out the webpage of the state agency that regulates fishing in your state. Here in NY, it is the DEC (Department of Environmental Conservation). In many states, it is called DNR (Department of Natural Resources). In Pennsylvania, it's the Fish and Boat Commission. their site is at www.fishandboat.com . I'd give that a try to get started. starte with the links on the left - stocking and fisheries. I looked at the interactive maps, and other than boat launch info, not much comes up for Centre County.

Tight lines!

Edit: I found a trout stream listing at : www.http://fishandboat.com/waters_trout.htm This should really get you started.
