Hi mate,

Here in New Zealand winter is actually a good time for trout fishing near river mouths. Winter is the time when they move up rivers after heavy rain for spawning. Lakes are also fishing well during winter as trout tend to rise closer to the surface in the cooler weather.

It might be different in you area though.
Where are you from?

Cheers
Mark

thanks alot guys for the good advice. Im from Texas Buddy! I live in Corpus Christi Tx. we are a beach community. what part or Australia are you from.
Not from Australia, but New Zealand ;-)

I live in Auckland. Great place for salt water fishing all year round.
Trout fishing in New Zealand is also superb. A little further inland we have awesome lakes and streams full with rainbow and brown trout.
Hey Mark,
Iwas guessing that he was asking about speckled seatrout because of the area he was from(texas coast) they have these fish down there that kinda look like trout in the ocean and they are fun to catch and good tablefare. Anyway one
way or another some one will have an answer for his question. This is an awesome site. keep it up. and thanks.
Hi Masterjet_I
Booyah here Im the one that sent you the website link to look at.I used to live in texarkana ar.sharing the border with texarkana tx. I kinda know the area even though Ive only done the galveston charter boats for snapper and black fin tuna. I moved to that area from las vegas nv. and I live in las vegas again now. (work) Love fishing and grew up in so cal doing the bi
annual h&m landing thing in san diego and long beach fishishing charters out to catalina and channel islands. Also big into scuba diving. I even do that
in lake mead where I am now. I always try to help folks here and I assumed that because you were very near the ocean and good speckled seatrout fishing thats what you were looking for. If not I can send something on the kind of trout my good buddy Mark T was talking about from NewZland. They do have some nice trout fishing there(inland of course) Anyway welcome to the site and
show us all the pictures of the big ones you catch.
Sure will BooYah! Thanks for the advice, I am looking for sea trout. Im trying to learn how to be a site caster so that I can teach my boys when they get older. My friend told me about this site and I was hooked.
