Tiger Bass is a cross beteween the Florida hybrid and large mouth bass. They are VERY aggressive. Last May and June I was fishing a 145 acre lake, which has Tiger Bass. Early one morning I was waiting for daylight so I could see where to throw my Lucky 13 top water plug. My second cast was in 12' of water. I had "popped" the Lucky 13 (red and white) a couple of times when she hit!! What an explosion. I fish with braided line only,30# (diam.of 8# mono), so I didn't worry about the line breaking, I just had to net this fish! After the third run I did net her. What a fish! 14# and 8 oz. After weighing her, I released her back into the lake so she can give us many, many BIG bass. June of this year was a super month for catching BIG Tiger Bass.In June, by myself, I caught 34 and the next Saturday I took a friend and we caught 41 Tigers and released 19 that all would be over 10 # each. Most all of these fish were caught in 21/2' to 3' deep. All fish (except) for the 14.8 pounder were caught on a "log" as I call it! It's a watermelon seed color, Magum Finess Extra Salty worm. No head or tail, just a stick. I use no weights. Let the worm float down, count to 100 and then move it about 6" and hang on brother, because the fight has begun. This past summer was so hot that I didn't fish much. Just to hot! Can't wait to get into the fall fishing.
