Magic sweet and spicy sauce for cooking your fish

Being a fisherman’s wife, I love to cook delicious fish but I don’t love fishy taste and smell. I tried many different ways to prepare them. Here is the most versatile and delicious sauce for cooking any types of fish dishes. No more dry, smelly fish dishes on your plate.

Ingredients(for 6 to 8 small to medium size fillets)

- 2 cloves of garlic, finely chopped
- 1 small piece of ginger (size of index finger nail), finely chopped
- 3 table spoons of soy sauce
- 1 tea spoon of fish sauce
- 1 tea spoon of cayenne pepper(or any other chilli powder)
- 3 table spoons of brown sugar syrup
(I used Olyigodang from Korean grocery shop. To make it easier, you can substitute with Golden syrup.)
- 1 table spoon of sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon of black pepper

*It is a sweet tangy sauce. You can add extra sugar or chilli powder into the sauce if you wish.
*It is better if you can already make the sauce a night before you use it. I make always more and store it in the fridge for other usage(stir fry, marinate for meat and so on)

  • Clean and dry the fillets

  • Marinate the fish in the sauce for 5 to 10 minutes

  • Fry them in a hot pan with vegetable oil for 7 to 10 minutes until the sauce gets caramelised.
