Error in tide chart

The tide levels and times do not match the local tide chart which does match the FOXTEL weather Chanel tides and times.

Hi,

what's the name of the tide station you're having trouble with?
Cheers
Sydney Australia.
Tides taken at Fort Dennison
Currently we have daylight saving time.
okay thanks.

So the name of the tide station in the tideclock box on the frontpage says Fort Dennison?
The tide times are automatically adjusted to daylight savings, so that shouldn't be a problem.

Have you tried to switch to another tide station from the list?
No, Fort Dennison is the tide station inside Sydney harbour, but the selectable tide station only shows Sydney Au.
The times are off by a few minutes but the low tide ( was not checking the high) was significantly different.
Yes I have problems with  in locations allways say more tide  my home is around 20 drive to  see
Works fine for me. Airlie Beach nth qld. I hit this site every morning.
Says It's an excellent day so you know where I'll be.
herveybay qld australia         low tide 12 min slow
Hi everyone.

Mark is currently in an area with limited internet signal. Hey, it's holiday season and even the lazy deserve a few days off 😊 (I know I will be punished for that. But you gotta agree it was funny)...:):)

Hang in there. Last time this happened, it turned out that BOM was giving wrong info.

I have done some random checks of different locations and all seems OK. So maybe it is just a satellite issue or some other local issue. Maybe a dolphin has stolen BOM's depth sounder?...that would be funny !!:)

Cheers
Neil

Hi Khan,

I understand. I am looking into it. There is not a lot I can do until Mark is back.

Please let me check a few things first...Your location is Salmiya Kuwait ? Correct ?

Yes it's  Salmiya kuwait
Hi Khan,

I hope this translates OK.

I have checked and I can see both Salmiya and Kuwait City tide stations. But neither appear to be transmitting. So I don't know if it is at your end or our end.

Please wait for Mark to come back. Mark is the guru on this.

Cheers
Neil
Hi Kahn,

Unfortunately I can't provide tide times for Kuwait.
That's why you didn't see any tide time for the past 9 years :-)
Been trying to calculate the tide times but wasn't successful.

You could check here if there are tide times for your location and then cross check with the fishing times at fishingreminder.

cheers
If the tide times are a few minutes ahead or behind, that's quite normal.

The tide calculations can only calculate estimates. There are many factors that could influence the tide cycles and bring the calculations a bit out of sync. The tide predictions are quite convenient for fishing but don't rely on it, if your life depends on it.

In most cases and for most tide stations the prediction is quite correct to within 15 minutes to half an hour of the actual tide.
But some tide stations can be off a bit more. Especially harbours, river mouths or places with irregular tides.

If you have more then one tide station available at your selected location it might be worthwhile to check which one gives the best results. Once a new location is selected the available tide stations are listed just above the tide clock.

cheers and happy fishing
hope everyone is having a great holiday
