My name is Robert Ramirez. I live in portland, oregon. I am a local truck driver that is a fisherman at heart. living up here on the Columbia River people tend to only go for the main draw, (Stergeon, Salmon and Steelhead). it's fantastic don't get me wrong. The problem is that Everyone in the surrounding areas and tons of people from all over the U.S. and Canada come here to fish for them when they are in season. Thats a lot of hooks in the water at the same time. Boating and shorelines are maxed out. That just isn't relaxing to me. (I still go... I'm no fool...).

What I am mainly looking for is good catfishing locations within the Portland metro area. I go bass fishing all the time up here. and since no one is fishing for them it is fantastic on the rivers (smallmouth) and lakes (largemouth).

It's nice to have found a forum to chat with you all. and hope you all get to bend a sturdy rod soon!!
