To answer your question fish 7110,

It really depends on what kind of fish you're after.
Australia is a huge country with different climate zones.
I suppose, if you're after a general answer - you could say that the best season would be over the summer months.

Btw. topic got restarted as the conversation went into the wrong direction.
In Australia, Summer is around Dec, because Australia is on south hemisphere. would it be correct?

Do you have any suggestions?
Thank you very much for any suggestions (^v^)
yes that's true - summer starts in December in the southern hemisphere.
But although summer is probably the most popular season for fishing, winter fishing can be quite good too.
Generally speaking it is true.

Some parts of Australia don't have summer or winter. Some parts just have two seasons...The Wet and The Dry.
I've been wondering about that. I have never fished in the northern parts of Australia.
But I suppose the dry season would be more popular for fishing up there?
While in the southern parts this would be the winter time and generally less popular?

If that's so, I'd think there must be an annual migration of fisherman form south to north and vice versa, LOL
Very true :)

I actually went to school with a boy (now a man of course) that lived the annual migration. They spent summer on the south coast NSW and winter in Darwin (the dry). His father had a job painting which could only be done in "summer" conditions.

I lived in Darwin for 2 years (with the Army). I have always said , if the weather was better you could live there...It goes like this...

The wet...They measure the rain in meters !! The wet ends and the dry starts. I am not joking you could almost set your watch by it. Within hours, like 48, 72 hours the fires start. It is just so hot and dry. The bush fires burn for 4 to 8 weeks. Then you get about 4 months of absolutely perfect weather...so of course, the Army deploys and goes on exercise....and all the "normal" people go fishing :)

All I can say is...You never, never know if you never, never go !! Just put the dry season on your bucket list. I might add, and I don't often suggest this, hire a guide or use fishing charters. You will have one of the best fishing experiences of your life !!
Depends.

What style of fishing do you want to do?

What fish do you want to target?

Unless you want to tell us what kind of fishing you do and what fish you want to catch, then your question cannot be answered.

keep calm itsaboat, I know you're thinking about that cattlefish again.

It'll be interesting to see if anyone really bothered to fish during a lunar eclipse.
Maybe by pure incidence?

Lets wait and see:
