you started a great hobby. There is much to learn and it's gonna be super exciting when you catch your first big one.
So keep on it. It takes a bit of effort and lots of practice to catch fish consistently. But the rewards more then make up for it.

I'd suggest you start by reading a book to learn the basics and watch some videos.
Then go out and try some of the techniques. 
What kind of fishing are you interested in? Saltwater or Freshwater?
