Is Winter a very bad season for Fishing?

Manish says:
I went Fishing today, and guess what, no fish at all. It was a beach fishing, and it seems like nothing is active in winter. I could not even see any insects on the beach, only a few shellfish sticking in the stone. The water was cold though. Maybe wait until summer for the fishing. What do you think guys?

The short answer is no !!

In fact winter is better for some types of fishing...Large pelagics like cool water, and so they come closer to land in the winter.

Search the Forum for ice fishing 😊 They basically drill or make a hole in the ice and catch fish...

It has been around minus 3 to minus 4 here for the past week or so...It is a long weekend...But on Tuesday, I am going to the "Bidgie" chasing cod. I might catch one, or I might not...No different to the summer at 40+ in the shade...Might catch one or might not.

It is not about the catching...It is all about the fishing :)
