Trout fishing - manitoba canada

I've been a member for a few years and this is my first post.
I live in northern Manitoba Canada and would like to know if wild lake trout bite when its raining when there's still lot of ice on the lake, I tried to day before the rain but no luck. I have rain forcasted for the next 2 days and I've been ice fishing the last 15 days and caught 1 trout and a lot of other fish ie: northern pike and burbot but my target fish is trout so any advice will be appreciated.

Hi Saysi,

Welcome to the Forum :)

Some interesting questions. I am sure that someone will have the answers.

Since you caught some trout when ice fishing, then I would think remaining ice would not be an issue. Some fish are spooked off by rain but I have no idea if trout are. Most fish are opportunistic eaters. They might not go "hunting" for food when it is raining, but if food comes to them, they will grab it.

We are just about to come into winter here. So I take it that those are spring rains for you. Maybe someone with local knowledge can give some tips and tricks for catching trout during spring rains.
due to the weather the fish are inactive and don't bother with the lures that I've been using and if there is a change in the weather for the better would that get them to start feeding and go after my lures.
Probably.

Have you tried using different lures? Maybe they are feeding on the bottom, so try using bait.
tried different lures and saw a northern pike follow the hook without biting, it's still raining here and the ice is slowly melting so i'll wait till it passes before going back out
