Fishing Tips for Lake Macquarie in New South Wales

Hi Guys Doug is my name , Living in Beautiful Lakemacquarie  NSW   [   Blacksmiths  Beach  ]  Been here for the last 12 months  hoping to obtain imformation on the area for land based fishing ,  Beach , channel , Lake ,  Heard  bread is great for bream , love whiting fishing  but would dearly love to catch mulloway and flatties , can I get some good tips please .

Hi Doug,

I will be passing Lake Macquarie next week on my way to Nowra. Probably stop over night in Newcastle. I have never fished there but you certainly picked a great part of the country to live.

Yeah, bread works on bream. But I can give you a tip on the best killer bait for bream...

Cooked prawn head ! And it's free because you usually just throw them away. Or ask you friends and neighbours to keep them for you. Not hard to find this time of year with lots of people eating prawns over Christmas.

To prepare...Gently lift the head shell away from the legs. You are left with a small meaty piece with legs still attached. Put it on the hook which ever way you want. But what I do is feed the hook from the top through the meaty part and have the point come out in the middle of the leg rows.
