Hello from Destin Florida area.

I just joined Fishing Reminder and looking forward to catching some fish or at least rays (sun). With the storms I don't expect anything to happen for a couple more days.

Hi Richard,we have just had a storm rip over NZ also over the last couple of days,i was looking forward to a w/end of surf casting but will take a few days for things to clear here too...Do you fish for Rays, and do you eat them,or the wings ???Have caught and released quite a few eagle rays here but never tried them on the table...Cheers Karl K...
Hello Karl, We had a storm blow through here Tuesday and another is expected tomorrow. Like you it will take a couple days to smooth out, although there have been a few guys posting pictures of some nice fish immediately after. I don't know their secrets.

I was making a joke about catching some rays, (sun rays and getting a tan). A small attempt at humor when I don't catch any fish, I can usually add to my tan. HaHaHa.

I do not target rays, but I did catch a small one the other day. I have heard that parts of the wings can be eaten, I have not tried that. I have caught 'clear nosed' skates which are similar to a ray. They taste pretty good but there is a lot of work for the very small amount of meat. I did this only once and had no one to ask if there was a better way. I gave a couple skates away, one time, and the people were very glad to have them.
Regards Richard
