Hello from Stockholm!

frappa says:
Hi am new here and me and my wife like fishing and we found this site!

We have mixed waters here like 50/50 salt and freshwater so we have a lot of bass and pike´s here.

Here we notice that the pike bite just before sunset and the bass bite in the morning time and afternoon.

Hi there

Welcome to fishingreminder.
Good to have some Swedish fishermen on board 😉

You guys fish from a boat or land based?

tight lines
Hi! we fish from land now but when we have the money we buy a boat!

Fredrick and Nongnuch
I can only recommend to get kayaks. I'm totally addicted to kayak fishing.
It's much more fun and way cheaper then a boat.
You also get the stealth factor - very effective for fishing in shallow waters.
Hi right now me and my wife are saving money to a trip to Thailand where my wife is born and to visit her family.

She is from Chiang Rai not so far from the golden triangle and the gate to asia.

This winter we are going over there and we will fish in the river.

I think it will be awesome fishing at the same time as you look over the river and you see Burma and Laos on the other side.

Well we are going out now to do some fishing! :woohoo:

Fredrick and Nongnuch
Apologies but the translation of the Swedish names of the fish that we fish was a bit wrong! It should be pike, perch, walleye, trout and maybe a salmon if we're lucky.

Fredrick and Nongnuch
There are some big catfish in those Thai rivers.
I've been to Chiang Mai a few times and also to Chiang Rai.
Took a boat from there up the Mekong into Laos to Luang Prabang.
That was an awesome trip. My best mate lives now in Chiang Mai permanently.
Northern Thailand is a really good place to visit.

Hope you had some good fishing.

cheers
Hi!

Yes Northen Thailand is a very nice place and i can´t wait for the next visit.

The fishing today was poor my wife get a small perch and i get a
1.6kg Pike and my wife is coocking it for dinner right now.
Do you guys eat it with a nice thai curry or fried?

I actually cooked my last snapper yesterday in a thai curry sauce ;-)
Was experimenting the other day and found that marinating the fillets in a mix of coconut milk and red thai curry paste and then steaming or baking them tastes really nice.
Haha no we actually used the onion, garlic, butter, lemon pepper,
tomatoes and salt.

Fill the fish with with everything and then make a package of aluminum foil, then into the oven or on the grill. If you use the oven as it depends on the size of the fish, set the oven to 175/250 degrees Celsius for about 20/45 min.

Serve with boiled potatoes and a cold beer!

Hello from Stockholm!
It's been pretty quiet on the fishing here now.
We had plans to buy a boat that we could fish in and other fun at sea, but it was a change of plans with where we're having a baby this April and the money has gone to buy a baby carriage and a baby seat for the car and a baby bed and a lot of other things that are needed.
But this spring, maybe I can take the opportunity to do some fishing between changing diapers and when the baby sleeps haha.

But we are expecting a little boy so fishing there is plenty of time later. 😉

Regards Fredrick and Nong
Hi Frappa

Thats great news from you. You must be very excited to welcome Frappa Junior to this world very soon 😊 I'm sure you guys are gonna have a great time fishing together in a few years!

Hello!

Now it's two years since I wrote something here.

Me and my wife have been busy with our son who is now 2.5 years old.

Now we have started to fish a little again one of us fishes one of us take care of the child and then take turns.

What struck me immediately is that the fishing calendar with best fishing times and bad times should be available as an app for my smartphone when all other apps found in the app store is just rubbish.

We tried to fish a little yesterday, Sunday, 31/07 and only 2st perch where we usually get 9-10 fish.

Sincerely Fredrick and Nongnuch and son Christoffer
Hi frappa,

The link to the app is at the top right corner of every page.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fishingtimesfree

Or there is a pro version - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fishingtimes

Cheers.
Sorry but i have Iphone and the link in the corner is for Android

I have this app Fishing Deluxe v3.0

http://lifewaresolutions.com/fishing_deluxe_best_fishing.html
I see.

That is a question for Mark. As far as I know there is (or was) an iPhone app.

I see what you mean about the others. It would not be right for me to say anything bad about them, but I know which one I would prefer !!

In the mean time, you can still access the solunar charts on your iPhone using the phones browser.

This is the only link I have for it - http://www.solunarclock.com/

But I am sure Mark will get back to you soon.
Hey Frappa,

We have an iphone app. It's just called fishing times in itunes.
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/fishing-times-lite/id419841407?mt=8

But I haven't had time to update it for a while as I'm more of an android user.

The fishingreminder website should work well on the iphone though.
It's optimised for mobile phones.

Cheers
Hello Mark.
I found the app on iTunes and download it so I can have it as comparison with the other app I have.
will test it this weekend.
