New to the site, but been fishin' for a while I would like to fill in some things on the profile but Im not sure how to navigate that to enter some items. Could use a little guidance on that somebody. I fish lake mead and lake mojave in Nevada most but do go to San diego and Sea of cortez for saltwater species now and again. Thanks for any help in advance and good fishin' everyone.

haha - just noticed that you got the same signature like me - well at least your second line :-)

How's the fishing going up north at the moment?
Fishing has been slow! Not really running yet...I got a snapper and travelly today but that was a surprise! They say the end of this month it should start up again and i cannot wait! My husband caught an old anchor...haha! It had been down there for so long it had rotted part of it from the salt water. He went to pull up our anchor and he says "damn, this thing is so heavy I must have seaweed caught on it"....SURPRISE!

yeah same here - fishing is really slow going in Auckland at the moment.
Hope its getting better in February.

haha - did he pull up the anchor with his rod?
Nah to pulling anchor up with his rod...he was pulling up our anchor with capstan and it started straining so he helped it along manually and then came to a heavy rope...I knew right there! I told him he had found an anchor fish...haha! Sure enough, this weird shaped anchor was at the end of the rope and chain...covered in barnacles and sponges. We brought it home and I water blasted it and knocked it about with a hammer to clean. It has deteriorated some with the salt water, but it has been down there for a very long time for sure!! A little welding and it will maybe be good as spare or for someone! Love to know the history of how it got down there with rope included---guess some dumb arse forgot to tie it and tossed the whole lot overboard. 😛
