I used to Crayfish with baskets that you need winch to pull up... used to get two types one known as Green Backs and the other Spiney Both beautiful to eat and the green back more sweet !!!I lived on one pf our off shore Islands when I was catching crayfish ..GREAT life style !!!My Sons were same age as your Grandson then and used to thoroghly enjoy catching the "Spiders" !!!!

Hi, I usually save the heads from salmon I have caught and set them out for a day beforehand to let Em get smelly. They are then suspended in the top of the crab pot.
We catch Dungeness and Red Rock crab. Dungeness are larger, sometimes reaching 3lb and 30cm across the back, the Red Rock are smaller , seldom getting much bigger than 15 to 20cm across the back.
