Yeah, was stoked. It was actually a harbour beach and I was fishing at the edge of a channel on the incoming tide.

That makes more sense. Kingies do come into bays and harbours. Pretty rare to see one on an actual open beach.

Yeah, although I also know a few open beaches that have kingfish. Usually very tidal shallow beaches with lots of bait fish and beaches near river mouths or estuary entrances.

That's a beauty. I'd be shaking after hauling in a fish like that! We're frozen-in here at the south end of Lake Huron, so no shore fishing at present. It's a cozy -14C this morning. Brian
