My first rainbow trout properly landed on a fly rod

I got myself a new fly rod and learned how to use nymphs. My casting is still very clumsy but I managed to drift the nymphs through a deep pool and got a hook up. Very exciting.

Thanks bubba, yeah lucky to have so mild Winters in NZ. We're heading up to the top of the North island soon. It's a subtropical climate up there and the sea fishing is good even in winter.

Yeah I'm keen to catch a few Australian Salmon on the fly rod in river mouths. That should be quite exciting.
