Caught kayak fishing at Cable Bay, Nelson on green and orange soft baits. Caught and release a whole bunch more. Was a really good day actually. First I hooked into a good sized barracuda that chewed through my leader before I could land it. But when I had it close to the kayak a watched several kingfish following it. Then I caught a whole bunch of snapper and a bit closer to the shore I had heaps of squid following my soft baits all the way to the kayak. Unfortunately I didn't bring any squid jigs. Then a bit later I hooked into quite a few blue cod just around the legal size. So all in all a really good day fishing and all the action happened right during the major fishing times.
