I have no idea what this fish's physiology is. Is it's trunk a sucker like an elephant? Does it have a mouth below it's trunk?

Elephant fish has a very weird mouth right under the trunk. It is like a round hole with vicious teeth. In New Zealand, especially on the south island, elephant fish is a common shark fish to eat. You can get them from "fush und chups" shops as well^^
