That looks more like a black kingfish or amberjack to me :)

That's a yellowtail kingfish. It's called that in Australia, but it's definitely not a tuna.

I think Outback fisho just made a "photo typo" because he does know what a mac tuna is...So he owes us all a carton of beer for spotting the "deliberate mistake" :)

Yellowtail kingfish has a yellow stripe...Black kingfish has a black stripe...So this one is a black kingfish.

Doesn't matter, your "deliberate mistake" was spotted...I drink Crown Larger...hahaha.
Well, there you go... I always thought a black stripe was a black kingfish, but it seems they are also yellowtail. I guess it comes down to location and local names. I have always known that people call cobia black kingfish, but cobia are different again.
Anyway...It is not a mac tuna...and I like my Crownie's delivered cold ! hahahaha :)

I might hold you to that :)
So this bounty was caught in Botany was it? Was that you I saw out on Bare this morning?
I had need to come to Sydney but not enough time to fish. Did manage to "sneak" my kelpie into La Parouse...Yes, I know it's NP but he had a great time and done no harm...We stayed on the beach. Besides, the Rangers are great blokes, do a great job, and have common sense!
The bloke I saw on Bare was a few hundred meters away, but even that far looked like he knew what he was doing.
It has been a few years and apart from rubbish STILL being washed up on the beaches, The Bay looks good. Nice clear water and plenty of signs of good fishing to be had...

@itsaboat no it was not me i fish further around cape banks at a spot called jolong you would not be able to see me as you need to climb down the cliffs with rope and really not visable unless your right on the cliff top,
Kelpie you say my favorite dog I've owned two over the years and am currently looking to buy my third , yes the rangers don't seem to mind you taking your dogs for a walk througj the park but they should be on a leash.

Yes...He was on a leash *cough*....I only let him off when we are on the sand.
I am house sitting at Harden. There are a few kelpie pups listed on Gumtree. I saw a nice looking black kelpie today, don't recall the asking price. I will be heading back to Harden tomorrow (this Sydney trip was just all business). If you are serious, I will do an ask around. A farm bred kelpie (or any dog) is better than from a puppy farm!!
Oh, Cape Banks...The kelpie would have loved walking that far, but I just didn't have the time.
I drove through Little Bay today to get to La Parouse. I took an Airbnb room in Maroubra for this trip :)

No worries...
Early tomorrow, maybe around 7 to 7:30 I will be at the boat shed. I parked opposite the boat shed today and see they are doing reno's. I have to be in the Gong by 9:30 to visit Mother (haven't seen her in 18 months).
I know it is early, but if you want, I will be there (for a wee and poo stop) and we could swap details and you can meet my kelpie. It will have to be a short hello, even though I am going south, it still takes 1 1/2 hours in light traffic.
